Fantasy Crape Myrtle is a deciduous tree and glows up to 15m (50 feet) height and 10m (30 feet) width. This tree prefers to grow in full sun area and is high drought tolerance. So it is very easy to grow this plant and often used as a background tree in USA. Fantasy Crapemyrtl blooms beautiful white cluster flowers in summer through fall season and in fall season the foliage turn to orange color. Fantasy Crape Myrtle is native to Japan.

Flowers of Crape Myrtle
This picture is Crape Myrtle. As I said in another post for Crape Myrtle, we call this plant as “Saru Suberi” in Japan because the tree surface is very smooth.
But the written name of this tree is “百日紅”; this means 100 days red because the flowering term of this plant is very long. We don’t write this plant name as “猿滑り (means monkey slip)”.
Sorry this explanation became a little bit complicated.
