Pink Flowers of Dianthus - Fire Witch

This picture is flowers of Dianthus – Fire Witch. Dianthus is very easy to grow perennial flowering plant. Dianthus grows up to 15cm (6 inches) height and 30cm (12 inches) width in full sun area, and blooms pink flowers periodically through spring to fall. Fire Witch is good as border plant or walk side flowers and also Fire Witch flowers attract bees and butterflies well.

This picture is Crape Myrtle. As I said in another post for Crape Myrtle, we call this plant as “Saru Suberi” in Japan because the tree surface is very smooth.

But the written name of this tree is “百日紅”; this means 100 days red because the flowering term of this plant is very long. We don’t write this plant name as “猿滑り (means monkey slip)”.

Sorry this explanation became a little bit complicated.
