Possumhaw Holly is native to South East USA. This deciduous plant grows 6m (20 feet) height and 4.5m (15 feet) width and prefers full sun or partial shade area. The yellow berries of female Possumhaw Holly become orange to red through fall to winter and show us beautiful figure throughout winter and attract several kinds of birds around the tree.

Butcher's Broom

This photo is Butcher’s Broom. Butcher’s Broom is a little bit funny and strange name as a name of plant for me. This plant is also known as Box Holly, Sweet Broom, Knee Holly and these are much more normal for me.

Even though the name of this shrub is funny, Butcher’s Broom is being used in medical area in several ways and also young shoots are often treated as vegetable in many countries.

The berries have long stalk as name indicate (sorry when I took this Longstalk Holly picture, there are only a few berries under leaves and I couldn’t take good photo for them).
