White Japanese Flowering Cherry

In Japan we have many cultivated Japanese Flowering Cherries (may be more than 200 kinds) and there are many famous places for watching cherry blossom in all over the Japan. And when we have cherry blossom in spring, we enjoy parties under the cherry blossom. We call this party as “Hana-Mi (花見)- meaning is flower watching”.

Leaves of Incense Cedar

Incense Cedar is found in Oregon and California and grows up to 30m (100 feet) height. As you can see on this picture, the leaves of Incense Cedar form scale-like appearance. Japanese Crepemyrtle Photo

As I mentioned in previous post, Crepe Myrtle trees are called “monkey slip tree (Saru Suberi)” in Japan. See now you can understand from the picture how slippery this tree is. (But actually I have never seen a monkey slip and fall down from this tree.)
