Red-Breasted Nuthatch

In winter season Red-Breasted Nuthatches are a pretty popular Nuthatches in this area (upper state of SC) and in summer season they migrate to cooler northern area for breeding their chicks. I don’t see Red-Breasted Nuthatches in this fall yet but I think they’ll show up soon here. I took these photo in February of this year(2013) before they were going to migrate to northern area.

Red-Breasted Nuthatch is a small Nuthatch like a Brown-Headed Nuthatch and prefer to eat peanuts and sunflower seeds in winter season. So they were one of popular frequent visitors for my bird feeders. I hope they’ll show up soon here again.
