Carolina Wren

Carolina Wren is the State Bird of South Carolina. Male Carolina Wrens sing in very beautiful voice in early morning and I often wake up with their song and know it is morning.

Carolina Wrens are one of frequent visitors of my bird feeder and the most favorite food for them is peanuts. They look for peanuts form feeder and pick one piece of them and carry it on my porch mat or narrow area (for preventing losing pieces of peanuts when crushed with their beaks) and start eating by crushing peanuts.

In Japan we also have wrens and we call them “ミソサザイ(misosazai)” and they are also very good singers.
