Mountain Laurel is an evergreen shrub and grows up to 9m (30 feet) height (but usually grows up to 3m height). This plant prefers to grow in south faced mountain slope area (as the name implying) and can grow well in rocky or relatively high acidic soil. Mountain Laurel blooms white or light pink color flowers in spring season. As you can see on the pictures, these cluster flowers are very showy and often planted as landscape plant or back yard plant even though whole parts of plant are poisonous for human.
Mountain Laurel is native to eastern USA and now many cultivar species are developed these days.
